not a retreat

a living environment.

Paz is two acres of primary rainforest, beachfront, off-grid, in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. people come here to live — not to be hosted. there is no program waiting for you. no schedule to follow. no method being taught. just the land, the ocean, the community, and whatever nature asks of you on any given day.

you can come for a week or stay for months. there are no fixed start dates, no arrival windows, no cycles. when you're ready, you come. when it's time to leave, you go.

step one

remove what keeps you numb.

no screens outside your room ~

give your nervous system a real chance to land. the shared world here is screen-free.

no substances ~

come to feel nature directly, not to escape through it. clarity is the point.

no roles ~

the identity you carry back home has nothing to hold onto here. what's left is more honest.

not rules — conditions. the ones that make everything else possible.

how you live

simple rooms. shared meals. real nature.

rooms are simple — screened walls that let the forest move through while you sleep. the ocean is close enough to hear from your bed. the architecture keeps you safe and dry without ever telling your body you've gone inside. you sleep in the rainforest and you wake in it.

meals are shared and prepared together. the kitchen is communal — not a restaurant, not a service. you cook, you eat, you clean. the table is one of the most important places at Paz.

the land is off-grid. solar power, well water, no waste. everything here runs on exactly what it needs and no more.

the rhythm

nature sets the pace. not us.

there is no daily schedule. no morning program, no afternoon session, no evening activity. what happens each day emerges from the rhythm of the land — the tide, the light, the weather, the energy of the people here.

you might wake before sunrise and walk the beach. you might spend a morning in the waterfall. you might surf, or sit, or cook, or do nothing at all. Roberto knows the land — where to go and when — and will find you when the moment is right.

the rhythm takes a few days to find. most people arrive still running on the pace of wherever they came from. the noise of that life becomes audible before it fades. then something shifts — the body slows, the mind loosens its grip, and the place begins to work.

the earth sauna

guided. elemental. always a first time.

the Earth Sauna is Paz's own space — inspired by the Nordic sauna, the sweat lodge, and the temazcal, but none of those things exactly. it is built from raw earth, fed by fire and steam, and entered in darkness.

it is not a spa amenity. it is not a ceremony. it is a guided space where heat, darkness, steam, and the body pushed to its edge create conditions where the mind stops managing and something underneath surfaces.

Roberto guides it — not as a ritual or a spiritual authority, but as a presence. he leads a narration that directs you into your body, into what the heat is pulling forward. what comes up is yours. what you do with it is yours.

no session is the same. the heat and steam respond to the humidity, the fire, the day. the duration is never fixed — it ends when it ends.

the earth sauna is guided by Roberto only. it is not available for self-use.

who this is for

people who feel something is off and want space to be with that — not to be guided through it, not to have it explained, not to be given a method. people comfortable with simplicity, shared life, and real nature. people willing to cook, clean, and contribute. people who can be with themselves without constant stimulation.

who this is not for

people who want to be served, who need constant guidance or a personalized program, who want luxury or comfort as the point. people not ready to put down their phone or their substances. people looking for ceremonies, plant medicines, or a spiritual teacher.

if you're not sure — apply anyway and we'll find out together.

Paz runs like an ashram. we take only what we need.

what you carry out

not a certificate. not a method. something quieter.

most people leave with something that is difficult to name and impossible to unfind. an understanding of how to be still enough to let nature speak — in the wind, in the waves, in the small coincidences that only appear when the noise drops.

access to their own depth. to feelings they had been outrunning. and the discovery that those feelings, when met directly, are not as dangerous as the running suggested.

you don't leave with a practice to maintain or a program to follow. you leave knowing how to find that quiet again — because you found it once, here, and the body doesn't forget.

come back to life

Paz holds a small number of people at a time. that's not a marketing detail — it's what keeps the field intact.

there are no start dates. no programs beginning next month. if this feels right, the time is now.

apply and we'll take it from there.
